On this page, you can set the list prices assignable to the furniture.
To learn more about the complete pricing system of Piper, visit the Pricing system page, where tutorial videos provide detailed explanations of all pricing settings.
The list price can be composed of two different price categories, a Uncategorized price, a Fixed prices, and a Production cost calculation.
Price category
- What does a price category mean? For example, if you sell all furniture with 20 different fronts but only 3 different prices, you need to categorize the fronts into 3 price categories. This can be done on the front database page. Here, you only need to enter 3 prices for each furniture corresponding to the front categories. The program will automatically calculate the price based on the front price category set in the properties.
We have created a schematic diagram of the complete price structure of the program, which can be found on the Price structure page. On this page, list prices can be set.
Price structure
- If the Combined prices switch is not enabled, you can choose from the price components (1st and 2nd price categories, non-category price, and manufacturing cost calculation).
- In this case, prices must be entered separately for these components, which the program will then add together.
- For example, if you have 5 front categories and 3 carcass categories, you need to enter 5 prices per furniture for the front category and 3 prices for the carcass category. The program will add the current front category price to the current carcass category price to determine the furniture price.
- If the non-category price and/or manufacturing price is enabled among the components, these will also be added.
- The fixed price is always added to the total price.
- In this case, prices must be entered separately for these components, which the program will then add together.
- If the Combined prices switch is enabled, only the manufacturing cost calculation can be selected among the components.
- The other three components are combined into a single value.
- Using the previous example, where there were 5 front and 3 carcass categories, now 15 prices must be entered for each variation.
- The other three components are combined into a single value.
Size tracking
If the price of the furniture depends on any of its dimensions, the size tracking switch must be enabled. There are 7 options to choose from.
-
Fixed prices.
Each price input has 10 options, plus a size table where min and max values can be entered. To determine which dimension the size tracking should monitor, set it under the base of size tracking. This can be width, depth, height, or calculated. For the calculated option, additional input fields appear where multipliers for width, depth, height, and a fixed value can be set. The calculated size will be the base for size tracking. The program uses the price where this value falls between the min and max values.
-
Per running metre prices.
The entered price appears as a unit price (price per meter). Except for fixed prices. Entering a fixed price converts the linear meter price to a piece price, as a correct unit price cannot be calculated.
-
Fixed + fixed prices.
Here, 2 prices per size can be entered for the price categories. The size table expands with a third column (typical). This system is used for fixed-size furniture with fixed prices, adding a fixed surcharge for custom (intermediate) sizes. The typical size of the furniture must be entered next to the min and max values, and the surcharge next to the prices in the additional column. If the furniture size matches the typical size, only the 1st price is considered. If it differs, the 2nd price is added.
-
Fixed prices + Per running metere prices.
Similarly, 2 prices can be entered per size range: a fixed and a linear meter value.
-
Per square metre prices.
The entered price appears as a unit price (price per square meter). Except for fixed prices.
-
Per cubic metre prices.
The entered price appears as a unit price (price per cubic meter). Except for fixed prices.
-
Fixed + Percentage prices.
Similar to fixed plus fixed price, but the 2nd value is a percentage.
Entering prices
- You can navigate between Price categories using the arrows next to the price categories. Clicking on the light blue area opens a list where you can select the price category for calculation.
- In the modification (multiplier) field, enter a value and click the OK icon to multiply all values in the furniture. The 0 icon deletes all values. The copy icon allows you to copy the size table values (not the prices) and paste them into another furniture.
- There is no separate icon for saving prices in the program. Prices are automatically saved when moving to another field or pressing enter.
Modifications
- The calculated value can be modified and rounded. The furniture price can be multiplied by a multiplier. 6 fixed multipliers can be entered on the basic data page. Here, you can set which of the 6 multipliers the furniture uses. The obtained value can be Rounded to the specified Precision according to the selected method. The Test sizes can be used to check the correctness of the entered prices.
-
The all, copy, and paste icons at the bottom allow copying the entire price structure (including prices) to all other elements in the group or another selected element.
-
The import icon opens a window where prices saved in the old (Piper 2) system can be imported into the new system.
