Within the Piper 3D program, the default carcass material thickness corresponds to the standard 18 mm cabinet panel thickness. This thickness can be customized if we want to make our carcasses from panels of a different thickness.
The process for this is to create a new Material type under the basic components, for example, named Thickened chipboard (40). This can even be copied and the copy renamed from an existing material type, as this will retain the specific materials if, for example, the laminated cabinet panel remains the same.
Next, in the change of material, we need to create a new specific material option for the cabinet material.
And we create a specific material change for every part that is a component of the carcass.
Then, by returning to the change of material and selecting the newly created 40 as the cabinet material, the carcass will already appear with the new material thicknesses in both the manufacturing and the editor.
If we want the exact m2-price of the cabinet panel to appear in the manufacturing preparation, it is advisable to set the color code of the given cabinet panel in the basic components.
If we also want to optimize, it is advisable to duplicate the thicker materials in the list and choose a thinner material from the boards for optimization.
