If the computer cannot display 3D design interfaces, it means that either there is no appropriate video card in the computer, or more likely, the video card driver is not installed.
Installing the video card driver
Solution: If your computer has a suitable (OpenGL-capable) video card (which all modern video cards support), please install the latest driver for the card, and Piper 3D will function properly.
For laptops or manufacturer-assembled desktop computers, the video card driver can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website. To download the appropriate drivers, you will need the model name of your laptop. The model name is usually found on a label at the bottom of the laptop; if not visible, it can also be found in the system information. (Detailed instructions on accessing system information are provided below.)
For custom-built desktop computers, visit the video card manufacturer's website for the driver.
To find the name of the video card (in Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems):
- Open the Start menu
- Type: System Information
- Click on the System Information option that appears
- In the pop-up window, expand the Components tab in the upper left
- Select the Display option
- The name of the video card will be visible in the first row on the right, which includes the manufacturer. Using this information, find the necessary driver on the manufacturer's website.
