How can I add a new colour to the program so that it is visible in the render?
Colours and textures can be added to the program through the Colour designer. To ensure these colours/textures appear in the photorealistic image, you need to set the surface properties on the right side. These properties can be selected from a predefined list as shown in the video, or they can be copied from other colours. The second video demonstrates how to copy these properties.
Of course, you can also customize these surface properties using the sliders if desired.
If you have an image of a solid colour, it's best to use that image and import it as a texture into the program for more accurate colour representation. In this case, the image does not need to be prepared or tiled if it's a solid colour.
Adding a solid colour:
A solid colour can be created using the colour mixer by selecting any existing colour. It's important that the texture switch is turned off for photorealistic rendering. If you have an image of this colour, it's recommended to use that image and import it as a texture for more accuracy.
Adding a textured colour:
Textured colours (e.g., wood grain) can be imported as textures. These textures need to be prepared and tiled using an image editing program. It's important that the texture switch is turned on for photorealistic rendering.
The texture should be placed in one of the subfolders in the ...Data\textures directory. You can also create new folders for easier navigation.
Important! When adding a new colour, always press the New Color button to avoid overwriting the currently selected colour.
