Importing from an Excel file is available in the following sections: Basic components, Price wizard, Material list.
You can start the import by clicking the button.
In Basic components and Price wizard
After pressing the import button, the following window will pop up:
Here, you can import in three ways: To Item Numbers, To Names, New Raw Materials.

To Item Numbers: In this case, you can import prices to materials already in Piper based on item numbers.

To Names: In this case, you can import prices to materials already in Piper based on their names.
- New Raw Materials: With this, you can import new specific materials with prices and item numbers to the selected material type.
On the right side, you can search for and select Excel files on your computer using the Search xls file and Search xlsx file buttons, depending on the file type of your Excel file.
- On the left side, find the folder where the file is located.
- All xls or xlsx files in the folder will appear on the right side.
- Select the appropriate file and click the Load button.
Fill in the rest of the data as follows:
- Excel worksheet name: An Excel file can have multiple worksheets, so it's important to specify which worksheet contains the data to be imported.
- In the next 5 rows, specify which columns contain the listed data in your Excel file.
- For importing new raw materials, an additional text box will appear on the right side where you need to enter the row number where the materials start in your file.
After filling in everything correctly, press the IMPORT button.
In Material list
On the optimization material list page, you can import a list for optimization.
You can search for and select Excel files on your computer using the Search xls file and Search xlsx file buttons, depending on the file type of your Excel file.
- On the left side, find the folder where the file is located.
- All xls or xlsx files in the folder will appear on the right side.
- Select the appropriate file and click the Load button.
Fill in the rest of the data as follows:
- Excel Worksheet Name: An Excel file can have multiple worksheets, so it's important to specify which worksheet contains the data to be imported.
- In the next 5 rows, specify which columns contain the listed data in your Excel file.

Since the edge bands and descriptions occupy 4 columns, these 4 columns must be consecutive, and you need to specify the first column.

- In the starting row, enter the number of the row where the data for the first item is located.
After filling in everything correctly, press the IMPORT button.
