On this page, you can easily and quickly create carcass-front cabinet elements.
Identification
- Here, you can enter the name of the cabinet you wish to design and any Note. The name will also be the file name of the cabinet. Caution! Certain special characters are not allowed in the name (e.g., ? *), but unlike usual, the / (slash) is allowed because many people use it in cabinet names. In the file name, this character is automatically replaced with a rarely used special character (¤).
- If the multi option is enabled (see below), a continute field will appear after the name. In this case, the name is supplemented with the multi distinguishing characters, followed by the text entered in the continuation field. For example, if the cabinet name is: cabinet20xx, then you should enter cabinet in the name field, the multi is 20, which is the width distinction. These can be set for different widths on the Cabinet database / Main groups, groups page. Finally, the xx should be entered in the continuation field. Naturally, the continuation field is optional.
- The Note field has an assist feature that can be opened or closed with the icon on its right edge. This will display two lists filled with different words. Clicking on these words will enter them into the comment field, preceded by a comma and a space (a space before the wide column), allowing you to gradually create the desired text. The table can be customized on the settings page. Of course, you can enter anything manually. The delete icon next to the field allows you to clear the entire content. The automatic name function gives the cabinet a name consisting of the initials and numbers of the keywords selected in the comment field.
- By clicking on one of the group’s link fields, you can choose which cabinet group and subgroup to save the cabinet to. Both the group and subgroup must be specified. The names of the groups can be changed, or new groups can be created on the Cabinet database / Main groups, groups page.
- By clicking on the type link, you can choose from predefined cabinet types. For example: base cabinet, pantry cabinet, corner cabinet, etc. You cannot generate a cabinet without selecting a type. The types are defined on the Automatic types page, accessible from the top icon row. Here, anyone can even create new types.
- The SAVE button creates the new cabinet after making the various settings. If you return to the cabinet editor, the structural drawing of the new cabinet will appear. Here, you can make any necessary additional changes that could not be automatically implemented here.
Sizes, positions
- The cabinet only appears in the lower preview if all three starting size values are defined.
- These can be specified per dimension with a fixed value (white field) and/or a linked size (blue field).
- If a cabinet group has already been selected above (recommended to start with this), the most common sizes assigned to that cabinet group will appear in the brick-colored fields. Clicking on these will automatically enter the selected value as a fixed size. These can be filled or modified on the Cabinet database / Main groups, groups page.
- Right-clicking on the numbers will select them, change the field to white, and revert them.
- The delete buttons on the right edge of the rows can be used to clear the selections.
- The selected values will be the cabinet’s selectable fixed sizes, regardless of whether dynamic size change is enabled. If not enabled, the cabinet can only be displayed in the specified fixed sizes. If enabled, any value between the min. and max. values can be used.
- These can be specified per dimension with a fixed value (white field) and/or a linked size (blue field).
- Clicking on the blue (link) field allows you to select from a list of dynamic size abbreviations (e.g., base cabinet height - Am, upper cabinet 1. height - Fm1, etc.). In this case, the starting enclosing size of the cabinet will always be the current value of the selected size. Linked sizes can be deleted by right-clicking. The list of size abbreviations can be edited on the settings page, and the sizes can be adjusted on the Size system page. If a linked size is specified, the current value + fixed value will appear in the left pale field, indicating the planned size of the cabinet.
- If Automatic height is enabled, height value cannot be specified; the cabinet’s height depends on the selected divisions and front heights. In this case, the current height value appears in the pale field.
- Schemes can be created from the settings and values, which do not contain the links. These can be recalled by clicking on the small boxes below the table.
Multi
- Enabling the multi switch displays a new row. This allows you to generate multiple cabinets with identical layouts but different widths with one setting.
- The new row will contain the characters that distinguish the sizes in the cabinet code. These can be edited on the Cabinet database / Main groups, groups page. Each width size must have a distinguishing text, and each must be different.
- On this row, you can select with a mouse click which width cabinets to create.
- Pressing the SAVE button will create as many cabinets as fields you checked in the multi row, each with a different name and file name, which will consist of the previously set name + the distinguishing characters + the part entered after.
- The delete button on the right edge of the row can be used to clear the selections.
Layout
This area allows you to set up the cabinet layout.
- Each horizontal row in the table corresponds to a division in the cabinet.
- The cabinet must be built from bottom to top, with a maximum of 10 divisions.
- The first block of the table is used to set the cabinet layout. The leftmost, unmarked column can be used to delete the division.
- The columns marked with diagrams can be clicked to select the current division type. These are, in order: hinged door, tilt door, pull-out door, drawer, deep drawer, dummy drawer, empty, and appliance.
- The hinged door will automatically be left-handed, which can be changed during furnishing. The tilt door tilts from the bottom or top depending on the cabinet's starting height position and the front's position within the cabinet. (The dividing line is 1 m, the bottom of the front). The handle positions on the doors similarly follow the front height. In the case of a dummy drawer, the drawer front will not have a handle, and there will be no drawer interior behind it. The appliance unit will be similar to the empty one but with a different technical solution, no back panel, etc. In this case, an appliance type must also be selected when choosing the type.
The second block allows you to set the dimensions of the divisions.
- Drawers will appear in a predefined height size. The height of the standard and dummy drawers will be the 1st drawer size set in the size system, while the deep drawer will be the 3rd drawer size, but these can be adjusted when editing the Automatic types.
- The door heights are automatically calculated, always evenly distributing the remaining value.
- The first two gray fields display the actual size of the front on the division, even if the division has no front (appliance or empty). A fixed, unique size can be entered in the third, white field. A dynamic, linked size can be set in the fourth (blue) field, similar to the sizes, from a list of size abbreviations. The fixed and linked sizes are the clear height sizes of the fronts on the divisions, and their sum does not equal the cabinet height, as it also includes the gaps below, above, and between the fronts.
A reference surface for gaps and carcass thickness is shown in the upper right corner.
- If the height of every row is specified (e.g., cabinets with only drawers), the fronts may not fit precisely into the cabinet. Since the elements are built upwards from the bottom, the discrepancy will occur at the upper gap.
- The red number in the black field displays the current upper gap value as a warning if it deviates from normal.
- The carcass thickness can be edited. This is significant for fronts clamped between, so that their dimensions are precisely retained, possibly even with different carcass thickness.
The third block allows you to set whether the front on the division should be glazed or divided and how many shelves should be included in the division.
Adjustment to fixed height
- The switch below the table displays a small horizontal green line between the rows, which can be moved up and down with the arrows. This represents the height that can be set with a fixed value or with the Dynamic base cabinet height switch.
- The cabinet front heights will adjust accordingly, with the edges running at the given height.
- Important! Even if the dynamic switch is applied, the cabinet will be created with the current value but with fixed sizes, which will not adjust to any later changes in base cabinet height! If you want to ensure that it remains size-adjustable later, the lower fronts must be given a linked size that follows that. These are the sizes with the abbreviation starting with N, which reflect the standard front sizes. These are not input sizes in the size system but are calculated. The layout diagram above also shows an example of this.
The SAVE button creates the new cabinet after making the various settings.
- If you return to the cabinet editor, the structural drawing of the new cabinet will appear. Here, you can make any necessary additional changes that could not be automatically implemented here.
