Material types within the material groups can be found in the middle column.
Unit of measure
You must choose a unit of measure from a list. Naturally, materials will appear in this unit of measure on production lists. This will also play a major role in defining dimensions when specifying measurements for base elements (1 - 2 - 3).
Type
One or more characters can be assigned to specify types for materials. These will serve as filters in production preparation lists. Clicking on the type field opens a separate window where you can choose from predefined types or create new ones, sort them, delete them, etc.
Allowance
You can specify a percentage for the program to add to material quantities during production preparation, e.g., average waste for particle boards.
Dimensions
Three dimensions can be specified for each material type, which can be used later in dynamic calculations. For instance, for particle boards, the first dimension could represent thickness.
Price adjustments
Material prices can be adjusted using multipliers and/or fixed markups for manufacturing cost calculations and item-price lists. There are three options: one multiplier for manufacturing costs, another for multiplying unit prices of materials. The third option is also a multiplier or fixed markup between manufacturing and item lists and the list price. See further details on price structures.
Unit price, labor cost
If specific materials are not found in the production preparation section under the material type, the unit price entered here will be used. If a specific material is found, this price will not be considered. Labor costs are directly added to the unit price.
Search
Lists can be filtered by entering characters into the search field. Use * to substitute any letter in the usual manner. You can search across the entire database.
Selected items can be sorted, deleted, modified, and expanded.
