There are instances when you need to apply a joint texture across multiple surfaces, such as a continuous wood grain pattern over different surfaces. You can achieve this using these icons.

Start and End of joint texturing
These essentially act as individual surfaces but without any standalone appearance. However, the same texture is continuously applied across all surfaces between the start and end markers.
The basis of the texturing is the texture defined on the first surface following the start marker. However, this surface must be a polygon! The texture is projected onto the subsequent surfaces rather than wrapping around them. This can be problematic if there are surfaces perpendicular to the base polygon, as the projection will run parallel to the surface, causing stripes to appear instead of the texture.
