Saving rooms
In the window shown in the picture, you can save your room to a chosen folder with a custom name.
By default, the program opens the ...data\szobak folder from the Piper3D main directory, but you can save rooms in any accessible folder on your computer.
- Select the drive from the dropdown menu on the left.
- Choose the folder where you want to save the room.
- If there are already saved Piper rooms in the folder, they will appear in the list on the right.
- Name your room by typing in the File Name text box.
- If you click on an existing room file, it will automatically appear in the File Name box. Clicking save will prompt a confirmation asking if you want to overwrite the existing room. You will lose the content of the old room if you overwrite it!

Backup
The program creates a backup of each room every minute. You can load this backup if your last session ended unexpectedly or if you forgot to save the last room you were working on.
The backups are saved as .sav files with the same name as the room.
There are two ways to load a backup:
- If the Backup (.sav) files option is enabled, the .sav files will appear in the list, and you can load them.
- With the Load Backup button, you can load the backup (.sav file) associated with the selected room file.
Autosave
(Available from version 3.7)
- The program automatically saves the room at preset intervals, which can be configured in the basic data menu.
- You can also specify how many autosave files to keep for a given room.
Autosave is different from backup; these two functions work alongside each other.
You can access autosave files by enabling the "AutoSave files" option under the "Load" or "Load Saved Rooms" menu.
Autosave room files can also be found in the ...data\szobak\autosave folder.
